Juliet Bishop

Juliet Bishop

Juliet's has a nursing background which has informed her yoga and enhanced her understanding of the body and the use of yoga therapeutically, she has first hand experience of the holistic health benefits to body, mind and spirit and the incredible difference this can make. Juliet is passionate about passing on to her students what she considers privileged knowledge through proper teaching and practice.

"I started practicing Yoga at a very hard and stressful time when I was forced to re-assess and make changes to my life. I was fortunate to attend my very first Iyengar yoga class and I can remember afterwards feeling much calmer and more energised. As the weeks went by, apart from the more obvious physical changes in my body, like better posture and feeling stronger and fitter, I also felt more confident, calmer, less stressed and less overwhelmed by my problems. So began my passion for Iyengar Yoga which has now become a way of life. As a nurse I had worked in a healing environment and have a very good understanding of the physiology of the body, which has only enhanced my understanding and abilities as a teacher. It has been such a rewarding and intensive experience to qualify as an Iyengar Yoga teacher and to teach every week brings with it new challenges and satisfaction as I watch my students un-fold and develop".

Bob Philips

Bob Philips

I started practising yoga in 1990 and have been teaching since 1993. After a few years teaching around Bristol and at home, I trained for a further 3 years to become a Junior Intermediate teacher of the Iyengar Yoga Association (UK). I have recently started Senior Intermediate training.

As well as regular classes I have taught workshops, workplace classes and individuals, often with significant difficulties after injury or with congenital problems. I started practising myself after suffering significant injuries when I was younger, and immediately felt the benefits of this method.

My job as a teacher is to present yoga as an accessible form of stretch and exercise to improve many aspects of health and alleviate common aches and pains, as well as promoting the general sense of wellbeing that comes with it.
