Pilates is a system of exercises concerned with improving breathing, posture, strength and flexibility.

It uses a series of slow, flowing, precise, movements which challenge all the muscles, but in particular the deep postural muscles especially the pelvic floor and the deep abdominals - known as your "core stability", or "girdle".

It helps to reshape your body, which will become longer, leaner and more toned. It will also improve your posture, and is a great way to relieve unwanted tension and breathe more efficiently

Pilates is a useful rehabilitation aid after injury, it can be used to help in the treatment of bad backs and to overcome problems with joints and muscles.

However, you don't have to have a health problem to benefit from it, it's great for anyone who wants to improve their general fitness level, suitable for all levels of fitness, for both men and women of all ages.

It is safe, progressive, and tailored to your abilities and needs. You don't need special clothing or footwear, just something comfortable, and bare feet.

Come along, and see and feel for yourself.
